Alexander City Arts Announces 2026-2027 Season Lineup

Alexander City Arts is thrilled to unveil its 2026-2027 season, marking the 57th year of bringing exceptional performances to our community. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Alex City Arts is dedicated to enriching the cultural landscape of Alexander City and the surrounding area.

 

ART WALK AND WINE TASTING --  September 17, 2026 (Pre-Season Event)
Join Alexander City Arts and downtown businesses for the second annual Art Walk and Wine Tasting in downtown Alexander City. Local artists will display their work in downtown shops and along the sidewalks. Suzanne and Dan Adams will provide music at the fountain as guests enjoy an evening celebrating local art, music, and community. Tickets are not included in regular season but can be purchased separately for $25.
 

STORIES AND SONGS FROM THE HEART --  October 15, 2026
Linda Davis, Bobby Tomberlin, Tess Frizzell, and Lang Scott bring an evening of memorable music, personal stories, and humor to the stage. Davis is known for her award-winning duet “Does He Love You” with Reba McEntire. Tomberlin is a Grammy, CMA, and ACM-nominated songwriter whose songs have been recorded by artists including Willie Nelson, Blake Shelton, Vince Gill, and Barbra Streisand. Tess Frizzell is the daughter of Shelly West and granddaughter of Dottie West. She blends original songs with timeless classics and the stories behind them. And lastly, Lang Scott brings warmth, humor, and musical leadership to the stage. He has toured with Reba McIntyre and is married to Linda Davis.
 

COUNTY OF COOSA: VIOLA  --  November 5, 2026
Alexander City Arts will present a screening of “County of Coosa: Viola,” a short narrative film written and directed by Leslie Hardy. The film follows a Washington, D.C., lobbyist who returns to the small Alabama town where she spent her childhood summers and becomes involved in its struggle for survival. Hardy, a California transplant with family roots in Goodwater, will participate in a question-and-answer session following the screening.
 

CHRISTMAS WITH FRIENDS  --  December 10, 2026
Christmas With Friends returns for another joyful holiday performance. The group includes former Central Alabama Community College students from the 1980s who reunited to present Christmas concerts benefiting area charities. Audiences will recognize familiar faces and enjoy an evening filled with music, memories, and the spirit of Christmas.
 

SOUNDS OF MOTOWN -- Legacy & Groove – EARTH, WIND AND FIRE Tribute –January 22, 2027
Featuring the Ray Howard Band. More than a band, they are an experience: Ray Howard and his powerhouse ensemble radiate joy, passion, and connection. Whether on a grand stage or an intimate venue, they deliver performances of Classic Soul, Motown & Earth Wind and Fire hits that uplift, unite, and leave lasting memories.
Legacy & Groove, EARTH, WIND & FIRE Tribute reflects Ray Howard’s deep commitment to honoring the timeless sound and spirit of Earth, Wind & Fire while bringing fresh energy and unforgettable performances to every stage.
 

SPECIAL VALENTINE’S DAY PERFORMANCE -- DAVID PHELPS  --  February 14, 2027
David Phelps is known for his years with the Gaither Vocal Band, multiple Dove Awards, Grammy nominations, and platinum-selling recordings. His solo career spans southern gospel, contemporary Christian music, and classical crossover. Because seating is limited, this performance is not included in the regular season package. Tickets are $60 each and may be ordered separately.
 

END-OF-SEASON PATRON PARTY  --  April 24, 2027
Patrons are invited to celebrate the conclusion of the season and be among the first to see the Alexander City Arts 2027–2028 season announcement. Additional information will be provided during the season.
